An Open Letter from your 105th State Master Councilor, Thomas Parker

My theme this year is “One Fellowship”, inspired by the Fellowship of the Ring from Lord of the Rings.

To me, DeMolay has never been about the ritual, the ceremony, the regalia, or the titles. DeMolay has always been about the fellowship of good brothers of virtuous character. So to honor our Order I want us to embrace this fellowship that we all share, not just within our Chapters, but throughout all of Nebraska DeMolay and beyond.

Our strength as an organization is not in the individual members but in the bonds we share.

“The most efficient Officers who could be chosen would be ineffective without the loyal help of the members and the most enthusiastic members would be powerless without intelligent and consecrated leadership.”

This is exemplified by the motto, “Fortitudo Per Fraternitatem”, “Strength Through Brotherhood”.

I thank you all very much for the support you have given me, and I hope that in the next year, we may strengthen the bonds of brotherhood, cast aside our differences, and together build one fellowship which will strengthen us all!
